Indocyanine Green (ICG) Angiography

ICG angiography is similar to fluorescein angiography but uses indocyanine green dye,

which allows for deeper imaging of the choroidal blood vessels beneath the retina. It is

particularly useful for diagnosing:

  • Age-related Macular Degeneration
  • Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV)
  • Central serous retinopathy (CSR)
  • Choroidal tumors
  • Other deep vascular abnormalities

This technique provides a clearer view of deeper structures than fluorescein

angiography, helping differentiate between retinal and choroidal conditions.
